We are thrilled to announce that our project to restore the walkway to Tāhekerua/Sharplin Falls has been nominated as a finalist for the 2024 ACE Awards! 🏆
In the wake of the Canterbury earthquakes, the original walkway was deemed unsafe, but thanks to the Mount Somers Walkways Society’s dedication and our collaboration with Fulton Hogan, we’ve designed and built two stunning new bridges and a lookout platform. 🌉🌲
Our team at EDC worked meticulously to create durable, aesthetically pleasing steel truss bridges and ensure their seamless installation in a challenging, remote site. The result? A revitalized walkway that has become a beloved attraction, drawing around 1,000 visitors daily!
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success and to our supportive community. Keep your fingers crossed for us at the ACE Awards Gala on October 24th in Christchurch where we’ll discover if we’ve won an award.
Stay tuned for more updates!
