At Engineering Design Consultants Ltd (EDC), we’re not just about engineering—we’re about building futures. With offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Whakatāne, we offer a dynamic, supportive, and fun environment where you will work on real projects from day one. As a medium-sized, multi-disciplinary firm, we are big enough to offer exciting challenges and small enough to know your name.
What’s in it for you?
- Work alongside experienced engineers who love to mentor
- Get hands-on with a variety of projects across New Zealand
- Shape your career path with flexibility and support
- Be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
The Role

- Preparing clear, concise reports and technical documentation
- Collaborating with structural engineers, architects, and other stakeholders
- Designing retaining walls and preparing documentation packages
- Attending site inspections and contributing to project delivery
- Ensuring work meets professional standards and EDC’s quality systems
What we’re looking for:
- A tertiary qualification in geotechnical engineering (or close to finishing)
- Internship or seismic experience is a bonus—but not essential
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- A team player with a passion for engineering
- Familiarity with tools like Slide, Wallop, GINT, and Microsoft Office
- A full, clean NZ driver’s licence
- You must have the right to work in New Zealand with no restrictions
