From those humble beginnings EDC has grown to become a multi-disciplined engineering company employing 30 staff based in offices in Auckland and Christchurch. Patrick Harris the remaining founding partner and Managing Director addressed those gathered introducing them to the current management team. He then took everybody on the journey EDC has taken, covering the highs and lows of the last 30 years and how diversification has helped them weather the economic ups and downs.
He thanked colleagues that had joined him on that journey – The O’Sullivan Brothers from Prendos, EDC’s partnership with Envivo and Pat’s good friends at Dimond Industries. Patrick also thanked his business mentor, Murray Henshall and his wife Di, without whose support he could not have made the journey.
He concluded looking forward to the next 30 years and Di then cut the cake.
