Structural Team Leader
Auckland
BE Civil (Hons), CPEng, MEngNZ
Stanley joined the EDC team in 2021 as the Structural Team Leader for Auckland. After graduation he joined WSP and progressed to a Principal Structural Engineer over a period of 11 years. While being based in Wellington the projects he worked on were spread around the country and included a stint completing post-earthquake inspections following the events in Christchurch. His project experience varies in size and complexity, including working with government departments.
Stanley is a well-respected engineer who has presented at several conferences and has written papers to highlight projects and industry trends. He has a strong preference for timber design (where possible), however understands design using steel and concrete, so is able to provide appropriate solutions to all problems. He is also familiar with the assessment and strengthening of existing buildings. Stanley believes in a strong collaborative design process with other consultants to all ensure that the solutions meet the project brief.
Stanley is an active person outside of work and still plays rugby and AFL (among other sports). However, he suspects that his playing days may be coming to an end as he has started to pick up more sedate past times including board games and walks with the dog. Oh, he is also impartial to a good winery!
