Giles joined EDC in March 2012 and was previously a Director in a UK based multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, with responsibility for geotechnical and contaminated land engineering, along with company health and safety. Now in the much drier climate of Canterbury Giles enjoys leading and developing the geotechnical team in Christchurch whilst also helping build upon EDC’s environmental capabilities. Giles is skilled in; foundation assessment, design and interpretation of geotechnical and contaminated land investigations, slope stability analysis, retaining wall design, project management, cost benefit analysis and negotiation with regulators
