Working For Schools, Churches and The Community

School/Community

The ability to combine high levels of technical expertise with the unique requirements of publicly-funded projects has made Engineering Design Consultants (EDC) a popular choice for providing engineering services for church, school and community projects.

School, Churches and Early Childhood Centre developments

Our multi-disciplined team works together to provide a complete service package to include, for example, site investigations, contamination studies, drainage design, geotechnical design, and structural design for new school and childcare buildings, infrastructure and building extension projects. Our services are available in this combined package or separately for smaller school or childcare centre development projects.

We use the full scope of our structural and fire engineering skills to produce designs that meet stringent regulations associated with school buildings, including the provision of detailed structural analysis, seismic design, and fire reporting on multi-storey concrete and steel framed structures.

Our experience at providing high-level quality engineering skills within the constraints of the public purse has benefited numerous projects within this special category – we understand the unique funding, administrative and consultation aspects of school and community projects, including church developments for Pacific Island and other denominations.

Community developments

We have used this same combination of skills to complete a large number of projects for councils, including park upgrades, walkways, bridges and skateboard parks, and to stabilise eroded stream channels and repair ground slips on public land.

Our experience of the unique approach required for the successful completion of schools and community projects, enables us to provide a valuable service to this special client group.

Although we offer the full range of services usually associated with much larger consultancies, we have maintained ‘the personal touch’ and can work within strict time and budget limitations – all important features of school and community projects.
